Can you rec me a book where one or two characters fall off the precipice of a mountain or cliff and it’s a free fall to doom but he/she saves themselves (or their friend if both of them fell?

Maybe they manage to get caught by a protruding bush growing somewhere on a cliff and fall into a ledge like Tintin did in Tintin in America.

Although this person safely lands, their friend/associate doesn't and finds themselves hanging precariously from the edge of the ledge or wherever they landed and the other individual saves them.
