The representation of drug addiction in the media is downplayed severely. Maybe every once in a while you’ll hear about a huge drug bust, but hard drug use has become so normalized that it’s not even worth reporting. This has been an ongoing struggle and it feels like I haven’t properly heard the story behind this hidden facet of our civilization. I’d be interested in books covering the 1980’s in big cities in the USA, but I’m also open to other geographical areas like Cambodia and Thailand. Really, all suggestions are welcome!
