Like the title says, I'm looking for good mysteries. Doesn't necessarily have to be a murder! Just love a good mystery.
I have a few hard limits: SA being the big big one. The victim can be a woman but I need there to not be an assault as part of the crime.
Also just generally prefer no on-page sex. Romance as a **minor** subplot is alright, but I'm not really looking for that.
Love a bit of cozy, quirky, or whimsy.
Crossovers with other genres are fine!
I tend to not enjoy older books. They often contain a lot more stuff that was "socially acceptable" back then which I dislike. If a book has racism, sexism, homophobia, fatphobia, etc I'm not gonna enjoy it. Newer books aren't always free of that crap, but it's more likely.
Some stuff I've read recently and adored:
- Tainted Cup and Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett
- If I could have a bajillion books like this I'd be such a happy lady
- How to Solve Your Own Murder and How to Seal Your Own Fate by Kristen Perrin
I'm having trouble finding fun mysteries that scratch that itch. I did try reading the Agatha Raisin books but they were a pass.
