Hi! Looking for a good book to read.
So far in 2025, I have read:
-
The Secret History by Donna Tartt (5/5, loved the ambience, the characters, and most of all how they were delivered)
-
Normal People by Sally Rooney(4.5/5, the writing style wasn't to my taste but I could relate a lot to the plot and its hyperrealism; read more than what was written)
-
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chobosky(3.8/5, didn't love the plot nor the narrator, but I understood the message)
-
Dead Poets Society(4/5, was too short for my liking but I wish I had read this at 17)
-
The Song of Achilles(4.3/5, appreciated the poetic and delicate use of language)
Based on this list and rating, could you please recommend a book to read? Preferably not by the same authors as the ones on the list, but I would appreciate anything nonetheless.

The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing
If We Were Villains M.L. Rio. I am gonna use TSH like example, but don’t let it cloud your judgement. Like The Secret History, it also explores the complexities of a close group, their secrets, and the consequences of their actions. And it has a murder mystery.
A Gentleman in Moscow, by Amor Towles
The Covenant of Water, Abraham Verghese
Circe, by Madeline Miller is very good
Piranesi, Susanna Clarke
Lady Tan’s Circle of Women, Lisa See
