I'm not even going to try and get my parents by a Gregory Maguire book especially Wicked Sobs ngl. Besides the covers/hardcover for Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, Mirror Mirror, and After Alice that I like are long gone. So I thought I asked if there's any authors who makes reimaginings (Like Snow White, Alice, and Wizard of Oz) but without adult activities and swearing because it be awkward if my mom ask "what are you reading" and she flips the page and there's either adult content or a f-bomb.

*Stepsister* by Jennifer Donnelly is YA retelling/sequel of Cinderella from the perspective of one of ugly stepsisters.
*Heartless* by Marissa Meyer is a YA prequel to Alice in Wonderland about a young Queen of Hearts. Marissa Meyer also wrote the unrelated *The Lunar Chronicles* series, beginning with *Cinder*, which are sci-fi retellings of various fairytales.
