My childhood was a long time ago but I still have authors that I recall being excited about any book they had coming out. I don’t know if I’ve ever had the same excitement over authors as an adult and was wondering if anyone has author recommendations for the ones listed below. These are the ones I loved reading as a youth but have not found authors in the adult scene to compare:

Not sure about the others on the list, but if you liked Sarah Dessen, you might like Emily Henry, she’s very popular for contemporary romances right now.
I’m not personally a huge fan of the genre, but while reading A Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry, I definitely got some similar vibes to the Sarah Dessen books I read as a teen in terms of the kinds of characters presented and the problems that they experience, and I felt like it was very well written. My friends who are familiar with her work have said that Beach Read and Book Lovers are her best books if you want to get into them.
