I want to learn all about the history of how Nazi Germany came to be, but I'd like it to be a story instead of just a history book. Is there anything out there like this? Thank you!
In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson, The Berlin Stories by Christopher Isherwood (which became the play I Am A Camera, which then got adapted into the musical Cabaret).
Both of these are non-fiction which I know you didn’t ask for. But they are not history books. They’re more auto-fiction and memoir, and so they read like fiction despite not technically being fiction.

Prisoner B 3087 by Alan Gratz. A Jewish boy survives concentration camps. Based on a true story. Easy reading level.
