I just finished the Spenser books written by Robert B. Parker and I already miss Spenser! And Susan and Pearl the Wonderdog and Hawk and Vinnie and Chollo and random literary references and witty banter and everything the Spenser books brought to my reading life.
I’ve read the Jesse Stone books too, and while I liked being in the Spenser-verse still, the tone was different and I missed some of what I loved in Spenser.
Those who’ve read and loved Spenser, what are your recommendations? Other private-eye/detective/mystery series? The Spenser books written by other authors?
I’ve read Agatha Christie, Ann Cleeves, Thursday Murder Club books and many other British mystery writers over the years. Appreciate your recommendations!
