Try Heretical Fishing by Haylock Jobson. Very witty, monsters, magic, and humor. Oh yeah, you might learn something. 4 books total. Hope this helps. My fallback writer is Terry Pratchett. ✌️

He Who Fights With Monsters by Shirtaloon aka Travis Deverell. Twelve books published so far, but I think they’re through at least book 14 on Royal Road.
After you finish DCC I highly recommend…
…a reread. Or even better, a listen/relisten. There’s a bunch of stuff you’ll catch on round two that you missed the first time.
Beyond that, Discworld is a great rec, and Bobiverse and Murderbot both capture some of the same feel.
