Hey everyone,
So I’ve recently decided I want to get into reading, but I have zero idea where to start. I get bored pretty easily, so I’m looking for something that has action, adventure, or just an overall engaging plot that keeps you hooked.
The only book I’ve ever fully read (and actually enjoyed lol) was Back in Time by Geronimo Stilton.
I’m looking for something that’s fun, fastpaced, maybe with some action or adventure. Just nothing slow or too deep.
Throw me your best recs please. Beginnerfriendly but not boring.
Small note: I’m only looking to read hard copies, not eBooks. Just feels better that way
Thanks in advance

It’s on the thicker side of “beginner friendly” but I thought The Lies of Locke Lamora was a blast to read
So this is, more often than not, my suggestion for beginner level readers. It may seem cliche, but your mind does get rusty. If you don’t work it out, you’ll try to tackle plots and feel like you’re missing a lot and end up frustrated, and give up. Long story short: Don’t go for fiction to start off.
Go with comedic memoirs or essays (David Sedaris is always a safe and HILARIOUS bet). Stuff that’s easy to relate to. Once you’ve read of few of those, then move on to YA. Then the big boys.
The Passengers by jon marrs had my heart RACING the whole book lol it was a wild ride start to finish 😅
i do not support colleen hoover herself and i dont love many of her books but they are definitely beginner friendly and the one book that i absolutely love of hers is called “verity” – theres also a movie of this being adapted as we speak – it’s a psychological thriller and theres a good amount of plot twists that keep you engaged but also dont make it so you struggle to keep up as a beginner… hope you have a great reading journey
