I am from Spain and a few months ago I found a website that has been a game changer in terms of browsing for books. It is todostuslibros.com and it is a website to buy online in independent bookstores made by the Spanish Confederation of Guilds and Associations of Booksellers.
What has been a game-changer for me is their advanced search tool. In it, you can search and filter by title, author, ISBN, book synopsis and publisher. What I usually do is to fill in the publisher I want the book from and in the synopsis field I write a keyword of the topic I want the book to be about.
If I haven't explained myself well in the previous paragraph here goes an example. Say I want to read a book that talks about Antarctica. What I would usually do is fill in a publisher that I know is reputable and publishes non-fiction and then I would fill in the synopsis field with the word Antarctica. Then I click search and it will show me books from that publisher about Antarctica.
Do you know of websites like this for English-speaking books?
