Hi fellow book readers! I am looking for book suggestions for my mom. She has moderate alzheimers disease but still enjoys reading. That said, she can no longer understand books that have dialogue written in slang or with heavy use of written dialect. YA books and 'easy-reads' are a hit: "Fighting Words" and "Where the Crawdads Sing" were loved but she couldn't understand the dialogue in "The Hate you Give". Similarly, I know she would love the content of Jason Reynolds books but wouldn't be able to understand the text. She has a huge heart and is drawn to historical fiction or social justice type of themes. She loves strong female protagonists and hates romance books. Does anyone have any suggestions for books that have a relatively easy written style and not too complex of a plot? Thanks!! Print size isn't an issue as she uses an e-reader.

I would love to hear what people suggest or resources/ book lists that might already exist. Thanks!
