    I've worked in mental health as a paraprofessional for about 2 years now. Currently, I'm a Mental Health Case Manager. I lack a college degree and have limited formal training. What are some books that you all would recommend for me to read to help me do my job better?

    For example, I'm looking for books that will help me do the following:
    * skills training (I need to help people learn how to budget/manage finances, clean their house, cook, or other life skills)
    * understand mental illnesses
    * connect to resources (finding things like housing, food, etc. I know this is mostly a regional thing so I doubt there's very many general books on it)
    * help people effectively (for instance I've read the book on Motivational Interviewing)

    I'm primarily looking for non-fiction suggestions, but if you have a fictional novel to suggest that you believe would greatly improve my compassion for people with mental illness, then I'll take it.
