    1. ScoopingBaskets on

      – Cloud Cuckoo Land (Anthony Doerr). I’ll be honest, some of my friends have told they gave up on this one after a few chapters. I didn’t feel extremely engaged until about page 200. But if you can make it that far (and the library setting shows up really early, like on page 10, so you’ll have that to help you), you just might love this book. It’s really good.

      – The Library Book (Susan Orlean). This is a work of nonfiction about a lot of things: the largest library fire that’s ever taken place in the US, Los Angeles history, and the author’s personal experience with libraries, to name a few. It’s a great read.

    2. A few fantasy options:

      Invisible Library, Genevieve Cogman

      Jim C. Hines, Libriomancer

      Scott Lynch, In the Stacks

    3. The Library Book by Susan Orleans. Nonfiction about a huge fire destroying the LA Library in 1986, and its many ramifications.

    4. The Book of Form and Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki, a book narrated by a talking book that the protagonist finds in a library. Such a wonderful read
