I have recently gotten into reading again for the first time since my childhood (thanks to many years of grad school). I have mostly been reading thrillers. I have what may be an ignorant question but how can you have a huge plot twist in the end and the main character who was the murderer, or psychopath, etc. yet we had access to their inner thoughts throughout the entire book? I get that there needs to be a twist but it doesn’t seem plausible or realistic at all. Or even two people who had a conversation alone and were still apparently “pretending” but no one was around? Is this normal/common or maybe just the authors I’ve been reading (one of which is Jeneva Rose).
