Some recent good books I’ve read: “Lonesome Dove” Didn’t think I’d like a Western story, but holy shit it’s awesome! Well written and very engaging. “In Watermelon Sugar” by Richard Brautigan was very interesting. It’s one of the books that David Foster Wallace required for a class he taught. I love pretty much everything DFW wrote. People will give you shit if you like his work. Don’t listen to any of that. “Consider The Lobster” is a nice introduction to his nonfiction work. Lastly, if you’re into dystopian settings, I’d recommend “I Who Have Never Known Men” by Jacqueline Harpman. It was a satisfying read.

I found Matt Haig’s novel, “The Midnight Library,” to be inspirational. That said, you can predict how it’s going to end from the get-go. The other thing is, the first 3/4 of the book is pretty dark. But, like I said, in the end, I’m glad I read it.

It’s a terrible life philosophy, but a great story of overcoming and self-respect
