What’s a book you had to force yourself to finish? Do you regret finishing it?
I forced myself to finish The Silent Patient. Had to start it over a few times before I ended up finally finishing. I don’t necessarily regret reading it, but it wasn’t a very good book.
Watership Down. I choose 1-2 classics to read each year just to try to read a balanced variety and I think that was my least favorite. After that book I decided I would allow myself to DNF if I wasn’t having a good time.

I used to do this, but I have up. There are too many good books out there to waste time on a bad one.

The only time I do this if it’s a Book Club book. The last one was ‘if nobody speaks of remarkable things’. It indeed wasn’t very remarkable at the end.

The Name of the Rose. Could not get into it, the main characters, the plot, the twist, the motive….it really left me unsatisfied. Well written, sure, but I must not be at that level of appreciation in writing, just yet.

The Child Finder by Rene Denfeld.
Took me three months. I just couldn’t find myself reading it but still somehow pushed

Iron Flame. My best friend kept telling me the ending was amazing so I forced myself to finish…to get to a generic ending I have seen 100 times over. I am done with the series now

One Second After was extremely difficult to finish as I hated it within the first 50 pages.
