Hey all! So I’m looking for a new book that gives the same vibes as books like The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and My Friends by Fredrik Backman. Any suggestions?
My first suggestion is That Was Then This Is Now. It’s takes place in the same universe as The Outsiders but it includes a different set of characters.
My second suggestion is The Warriors by Sol Yurick. It’s about a New York gang trying to make it back to their turf in Coney after a rally in the Bronx. The events all take place on one night and it’s set on the Fourth of July in 1965. It’s like if The Outsiders and Lord Of The Flies had a baby and turned the graphic meter up three notches. It contains some disturbing subject matters especially considering the characters in the book are kids. But if you can handle disturbing subject matters then I HIGHLY recommend it.

S. E. Hinton has written a few other books too.
