Just finished The Crossing. I really enjoyed it. For a bleak melancholy book it kept me engrossed. The vocabulary didn’t frustrate me like BM, yet the imagery was just as powerful. I’m really loving the border trilogy so far and digging the western, modern, existential crisis take on the odyssey. The end though, what was that with the dog? Was he finally out of character and a little broken from the pain and fatigue of grief and life’s travel trials?
