As a kid my favorite books were the Hatchet series.
Some of my recent favorites have been:
– LOTR, particularly the forests and ents, and the fantasy
– Annihilation, particularly the pristine nature, the detailed and scientific biologist's accounts, and the mystery.
So I'm looking for suggestions that fit the themes of exploration, adventuring, and nature. Bonus points for fantasy and mystery themes.
