    Hello all!

I am thinking of reading Marcus Clarke's 1872 "For the Term of His Natural Life," however, I am finding a million different versions not only online but in the kobo store as well, and they all seem to vary not only in page count (normal) but also in word count (less common), which makes me think that some of the versions may be abridged. (I can't remember if any of them said that word directly in the description or not but it is late and I do not feel like double checking atm).

What version of this book is the best to read in your opinion? From what I was reading online about it, it seems as though it was published in sections to a journal or newspaper, then compiled into a novel, so differences in version are to be expected.

What is also interesting is that the price of each version is different. For example, one version that is 180k words is $0.99, but another that is 179k is $4.99, and another that is 181k words is $8.

Honestly I am having trouble deciding between the versions, and am hoping someone will tell me what the "correct" or most commonly read version is. If you have such a preference please link this to me if possible. I really appreciate it. I know this is kind of weird to ask, but I tend to get overwhelmed with so many options and so I have no idea what to pick and I just kind of sit there not making a decision lol. Thank you for your help 🙂
