    I thought the story was written by Stephen King, but I haven't been able to find it and confirm.

    It's a very dark story about (I think!) a sewer worker (or detective?) that (in the end) gets attacked by a man that has been killing people in the sewers. He knows he's going to die, and the final words from the killer are "That's right, it's the Queen of the Night, pal" (or something close to that), and the final line reads as;

    "Welcome", he said, but he didn't mean it.

    Anyone recall this story? I had the idea that it was part of a Stephen King short story collection (Night Shift?), but I haven't had any luck finding it. It stuck with me as one of the more disturbing horror stories I've ever read. Any help in identifying it is appreciated!
