Hello everyone,
I am not an avid reader of romance. I usually avoid books with romance being the main genre because they are often cheesy to me or use the same plot devices and tropes. I dislike the Y/A way of writing and plots, so I'm looking for something outside of that, but also not a classic.
The closest I've read to romance was mystery/romance, and I generally like the worka of the French author, Guillaume Musso (translated as I don't read French). I am trying to look for novels outside mystery, as that's the genre I read the most and I want to expand.
But I have been wanting to read a good love story, something that makes me move, something creative and not overdone, and not tragic either. I want to be happy by the end of reading it, not sad. If you can suggest something that fits, I would be very thankful. I try to avoid the following tropes: abusive "dark" romance, power imbalances, cheating (in any way or form), miscommunication tropes (they're just lazy). I would prefer the characters to be adults, but what's most important is that the book is targeted towards adults with a mature storyline. I don't mind some spicy scenes but I prefer them to be very limited and only to serve the story.
If anyone reading speaks and reads Arabic, I'd LOVE some Arabic suggestions as well.
Thank you in advance!
