Hi all! I’m a 30F mom, and my wife (29F) and I are looking for book suggestions to help introduce our 6-year-old daughter to feminism in age-appropriate, engaging ways. We’ve had some great conversations lately about fairness, standing up for others, and being proud of who you are, and we’d love to support that with some thoughtful picture books or early readers.
So far, she’s really connected with I Am Jazz (huge hit!) and two different books we’ve read about Greta Thunberg, which opened up great talks about activism and using your voice.
We’d love to find more titles that center strong girls, feminism, and activism — and bonus points if they also include LGBTQ+ or Jewish characters/themes. We’re a two-mom Jewish family and would love to see more of our lives reflected in the stories we read together.
Any suggestions would be so appreciated — thanks in advance!
