Hiya! I am looking for some suggestions for books as I have fallen into the tv/movies/video games trap with the added bonus of if I don't find the beginning interesting I will undoubtedly put it down and never continue reading it again (I swear I was the person that couldn't stop reading fiction for my entire life, and once I pick up a book I enjoy, I binge it normally in less than a day). I have started watching the Foundation TV show, and am going to read some Isaac Asimov books, but I want some new books with new stories that I haven't seen/watched before.
Now is where it gets even more niche, I am wanting to read a manga (in English) if possible, as I suddenly have an urge for that after not reading manga for years (the last one I read was Death Note in high school), though this isn't essential I just this evening saw an old bookstore that sold manga and made me want to try that again. More importantly I prefer fantasy/sci fi books, with no interest in romance (in fact I sadly get bored if it has too much focus on romance/lust), but I love puzzles in the storyline more than just a whodunnit style.
This is my way of branching out because I have been trying to find a book series that scratched the itch that Matthew Reilly's Jack West Jr (Seven Ancient Wonders) series gave me, as that is most definitely my favourite series at this point. Archaeology/mythology/treasure hunting and puzzles is just amazing to me, but I have found many books I have tried have been too focused on romance or action (specifically guns/fighting) to actually hold my interest.
I honestly don't know if anyone here can help, it's such a specific request, and there's always the chance I may have read and/or arbitrarily put down/not enjoyed any suggestions, but I thank anyone that has any recommendations or ideas!
I hope you all have an amazing and wonderful day and week!
