It took forever, but I finally own some books with printed edges on them (Foundryside and Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett)
I don't remember when this technology was first introduced, but it feels relatively recent. It seemed a bit, I dunno, gimmicky at first, and the technology was mostly found on YA romantasy stuff which may have led me to subconsciously avoid books with colored edges (I'm 37) but it seems that it is very much here to stay. Part of me is very 'meh' on them but then…another part of me remembers being in my 20s, working in a printshop and geeking out over a foil hotstamping machine 😅
Do you guys like printed edges? Why or why not?
