I’ve recently got back into fantasy or sort of ‘real life fantasy’, eg Babel by R F Kuang, Bunny by Mona Awad, The Atlas Six by Olivia Blake.
I’ve then been looking for suggestions for similar books and looking at things that are popular. But a lot of these books have felt very YA, quite simple language, and everything feels spelt out to you. There’s no gripping feeling, no suspense. E.g. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass, Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros.
So please give me some suggestions for this. I maybe don’t like too much world building but i like not knowing the whole setting for awhile as it builds up. I like a bit of smut, a bit of romance, LGBTQIA+ themes, anything really!
