Like highschool or college romance that is set in the 90s or 2000s which perfectly captures life back then and I’d prefer a sweet story with little to no drama. Though if it has some conflict, I can read it as well.
It should feel like I’m watching one of those movies from 90s. Chick-lit, romcom and filled with nostalgia!

Now is Not the Time to Panic by Kevin Wilson. Romance/Coming of Age hybrid.
The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot is set in the 2000s and it definitely reflects life back then – the technology, pop culture references, etc, are all very much of that era.
