Fantasy, spec-fic, whatever, give me something with really unique worldbuilding (and tell me about it)! I just finished Piranesi if that gives any idea what I'm looking for — something that breaks real-world boundaries in a way that's not generic 'magic and elves' fantasy or 'aliens and spaceships' sci-fi. I'm up for dark/Really Weird stuff, but it definitely doesn't have to be super serious either.

N.K. Jemisin’s *The Broken Earth* trilogy. She’s really at the height of her powers.
The Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde. Takes place in an alternate England. Thursday is a Literary Detective. She can go in and out of books, so attends meetings in Sense and Sensibility at the “cottage” while the characters are elsewhere, has to clear viruses that affect fonts or punctuation, must keep plots running smoothly, her father is stuck travelling in time so randomly shows up, there’s strict border control with the Socialist Republic of Wales, and then there’s Miss Havisham who frequently escapes from Great Expectations so she can steal cars and cause trouble…and so much more.
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir (and the subsequent series) is ridiculously unique! A blend of sci fi and fantasy where you end up with necromancers in space fighting huge cosmic entities.
Certainly not for everybody, but you asked for unique lol.
