I've recently got back into reading fiction after a long stint of only enjoying non-fiction books (mainly psychology focused, as that's what my degree is in). I've just finished 1984 and I really enjoyed it. I'd like to read other books with a similar message, or books that just have SOME kind of message whether it be philosophical, political, or anything along similar lines. Any reccs would be wildly appreciated!

*We* by Yevgeny Zamyatin was a foundational inspiration for *1984*. Lots of books were inspired by *1984*, so it’s cool to read something that came *before it* instead.
I’d say most classics have some kind of message.
But you’re looking for Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
Animal Farm by Orwell, Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde you’ll probably like as well.
I haven’t read this one yet myself but I believe Brave New World by Aldous Huxley will also fit what you’re looking for.
Animal Farm of course! The Handmaid’s Tale also comes to mind. Different lexical difficulty but The Giver lives in a similar mental space for me.
*1984* often gets paired with *Brave New World*, so that might be one place to start.
