My mom is travelling next week for the first time in a long time. She doesn’t read often, but she is obsessed with Harry Potter (she is 71 lol). I’m hoping to load up my kindle prior to her trip so she has something for her flights and layovers. This isn’t a genre that I personally enjoy at all, so I am hoping for some recommendations on what I can get for her.
Thanks!

If she’s into middle-grade fantasy, I always recommend the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan! It’s about the teenage kids of the Greek gods getting whisked away to the magical Camp Half-Blood, where they can train to be heroes and fight monsters of legend. Personally, I liked the narration, worldbuilding, and characters much more than HP. There’s a bunch of books and they’re quick reads, so great for planes.
If she wants something that’s still urban fantasy but a little more adult, VE Schwab has a great series called Shades of Magic that’s about four different Londons, all stacked on top of each other, three of which have magic in different forms and one is the London in the real world.
