I’m in the mood for some good portal fantasy and could use recommendations. I’m looking for something with a fun narrative voice, characters I actually want to spend time with (bonus if there’s that found family vibe), and ideally decent pacing so it doesn’t feel like a slog. I like first person best, but third works if it’s still immersive. I’m not into super grimdark or overly wholesome fluff with no stakes, and I’m fine with deeper themes as long as the story’s still engaging.
