Sooooo I've read like what? 20 ish books up until now. Most of them have been like romance, booktok you can say? Fantasy and young adult too! But I want to try classics now. I already own a couple of classics but I'm having a hard deciding my first classic, since yk it's gonna be special. 🎀

Anyway, i tried reading whites nights a year ago but then gave it up, I liked it but it wasn't what i needed at that moment. Soooo here are some that I own, hopefully yall can tell me which is the easiest to start.

    1. White Nights – Fyodor Dostoyevsky
    2. The Metamorphosis – Franz Kafka
    3. A Christmas Carol – Charles Dickens
    4. A Midsummer Night’s Dream – William Shakespeare
    5. The Bell Jar – Sylvia Plath
    6. The Secret History – Donna Tartt
    7. Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
    8. 1984 – George Orwell

Should I start with one of them or buy a new one that's more beginner friendly?🎀

Christmas Carol is beautiful classic language… C. S. Lewis is beautifully written as well as Shakespeare… Orwell and Dostoyevsky are kind of depressing

I’d either go with The Metamorphosis or 1984. Both of them are really good and have a writing style that’s easy to get into (The Bell Jar would also probably be a good choice but I haven’t read it so I’m not sure). Between the two of them I’d say The Metamorphosis is your best bet, it’s consistently good and short enough that you could probably finish it in a couple sittings. Meanwhile, about two thirds into 1984 there’s a section that’s infamous for being pretty boring and hard to get through.

I don’t know if you’re open to other recommendations but if you are then you might like The Great Gatsby. It’s a tragedy about a wealthy man in the 1920s who throws wild elaborate parties to try and get the attention of his ex girlfriend who’s now married to a total piece of shit.
