Usually when I go to one star reviews of books I like, it says something like the above.
I love contemporary literary fiction but also some memoir (a flat place- Noreen Masud, Dear Senthuran- Akwaeke Emezi) and some nature writing. Other favourites: Territory of Light – Yuko Tsushima, anything by Tove Ditlivsen, My Government means to kill me – Rasheed Newson, Kim Jiyoung born 1982 – Choo Nam-Joo, So far from my life- Monique Ilboudo, also Young Mungo by Stewart Douglas.
I like slow books full of character development and traveling all over the globe and hearing different viewpoints and queer stories and stories about life. So if you have any suggestions / want to share your love of any of the above books, I’d love to hear it!
