I work in the service industry, music is on the whole shift, there are dozens of people talking. I have a lot of downtime just sitting and watching customers. Like 2 to 3 hours.
I'd like to dedicate that time to studying helpful books.
But all the advice on focusing is about making it as ideal as possible. Im wondering about how can i focus as best as i can in the opposite of an ideal environment

I find that if I’m truly enthusiastic about the subject matter, it’s easy to tune out external chaos. *A Place to Stand* by Jimmy Santiago Baca kind of deals with this theme. While in prison, he learns to use writing as means to mentally escape his confines.
