Just finished Night by Elie Wiesel.
When I started reading the book this morning, there was a feeling of despair and actual headache which I couldn’t figure out I was having until I realized it was the book. Having read so many accounts on the topic, I knew what I was getting into, hence the feeling of despair and dread.
I will rate Night as one of the best books I’ve read about the horrors of Holocaust. Every time I read about it, I am absolutely shaken by how much cruelty humans are capable of and amazed by how much humans can endure. There were survivors from that hell who told their stories to the world. How did they survive? How courageous must they be? What people were they? What were they made of?
Night is a clear account of what the writer went through. No frills. Impactful
