I was having this discussion with someone earlier, and I figured I'd open it up to see what the consensus is. I know it's going to come down to individual preference, but I'm curious what everyone's take is on this.
Specifically for this scenario, you read a story or a book and you like it. Doesn't matter the genre or anything, just a book that you enjoyed. But at the end of the book or story there's a statement that the entire story was written by an AI. Would that affect your enjoyment? Would it be positive or negative?
For me, I'm a bit torn. I think that part of what makes art (whether it be books, music, film, etc) beautiful and relatable is the human touch. The connection. It's the culture that we all share and it's tough to imagine an AI being able to fully replicate that. However, if it did and I really enjoyed the story, it would be difficult to dismiss the entire work as less because it wasn't written by a human if I was able to connect with it if that makes sense.
What do you all think?
