So I'm a teen, and I haven't really been able to find many books that I actually like recently. I have a bit of a hard time reading really 'adult' books, or at least some of them, due to a lot of stuff like sexual things and honestly just the way they're generally written. I don't feel like I completely understand everything going on, and they're just not for me yet.
But with most of the ya I've tried to pick up, it's just been… boring, honestly. It just hasn't been that interesting and they don't grip me the way I've experienced other stories do. I need something philosophical and nuanced and character-focused, at least one of those. I haven't been able to find any, the best book example is The Hunger Games? I love that series, especially The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes, which takes place in president Snow's head, especially that part is good about it. Otherwise the only examples I can give are like tv and movies, Squid Game and Breaking Bad and Inception and Better Call Saul, that kinda vibe. Without it being totally adult and written in a way I don't click with yet.

*watchers* or *One Door Away From Heaven* by Dean Koontz for thrillers that are accessible and grab you right away. The main characters are a dog and children, respectively
*Maniac Magee* by Jerry Spinelli is one of my favorite books. It is written for younger audiences, but it is not boring, and it has mature themes.
These are books that I read both as a teen and as an adult and I loved them at both ages.
