Looking for zombie apocalypse book I read a few years ago where the main character turns into a zombie at the end.

I believe the main character is a girl, she meets a boy along the way who is immune to the virus and they keep her alive as a zombie so they can make the cure from his blood. Am I making this up in my brain lol?! Help
