Im in need of some good recs to help me get through my upcoming uni semester!
I'm just getting back into reading after a few years so I consulted booktok (perhaps not the best place to look) and decided to try out A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. It's alright… I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. I've seen a lot of hate and because of the writing alone, I'm hesitant to continue the series after finishing the first one.
I like fantasy because its an escape, so I enjoy good world building. I do love a good romance and honestly dont mind when there are somee clichés, but try to avoid overly cringey, unrealistic stories. I'm hoping to find some recs that can combine the two! Huge fan of the enemies to lovers trope haha.
I used to be big into murder mysteries too! A few of my favourite reads from the last few years are The Alice Network by Kate Quinn, Alex by Pierre Lemaitre, Black Irish by Stephan Talty, and The Killing Lessons by Saul Black.
Pls give a girl some recs! Thank you so much for reading 🙂

Now to preface, I’m just starting my reading journey, I came here to get recommendations too, but I will say in ACOTAR the first book was definitely the worst. I found it got much more enjoyable after that point.
If you haven’t read it yet, Fourth Wing is really popular for the dragons, sorta enemies to lovers, and world building. I found this one be better than Acotar
Other than that, I’m also looking for a new fantasy story with a hint of romance to start
