I’ve never read any Shirley Jackson and see she’s pretty prolific. Could anyone recommend their favorites to really get a feel for the writing style and storytelling? I did watch The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix last year.
I’ve only read (listened, technically since it was an audiobook) The Haunting of Hill House, and I loved it. From what I know of the show, they’re not much alike other than sharing character names and themes, but I’d still recommend the book. If you enjoy the book, the 1960s movie adaptation called “The Haunting” is brilliant as well, and follows the book pretty closely.
