I want some really weird book suggestions, I like unreliable narrators and just really odd concepts for stories, preferably combined. I am trying to get back into reading but finding the actual finding of books quite difficult.
My favorite books recently:
Colorless Tsukuru – Haruki Murakami
The flowers of buffoonery – Osamu Dazai
The Death of Ivan Ilyich – Tolstoy
White nights – Dostoyevsky
Piranesi – Susanna Clarke
I know the taste is pretty basic but that’s why I’m looking for more LOL

House of leaves – Mark Danielewski is like the go-to modern classic of strange or ‘gimmick’ books
The Unconsoled by Kazuo Ishiguro!
Or if you don’t mind sci-fi, The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe
*Hexwood* by Diana Wynne Jones – it’s fantasy, but quite surreal, with some very unusual elements.
Unreliable narrator: *Lolita.* Very well written but a difficult read due to the subject matter.
Also, *The Picture of Dorian Gray.*
Weird, surreal: *The Vegetarian* by Han Kang. Was not my cup of tea, but you might like it.
Unusual story structure: *Cloud Atlas.* *House of Leaves.* *Slaughterhouse Five.*
