I'm reading The History of Thailand currently, and a little surprised (perhaps naively on my part) by the extent to which the US, often via the CIA, was involved in manipulating Thai politics. It sounds wildly interesting, however as my book is only ~250 pages and covers ~250 years of Thai history (it's mostly focused on 1767 onwards), it isn't very dialed in to the specific period of the 1940s-70s that I'm intrigued by. I'm wondering if there's any good books where I could read further about this, either general histories of CIA activities (not just in Thailand, the wild stuff they did/do everywhere is interesting) or memoirs of specific agents involved.
