I loved it and it broke my heart.

This was actually my second time reading it, I read it once as a younger teenager, but I couldn’t remember most of it, so I decided to give it another go. I’m not one to cry at books or movies, but I’m not gonna lie, this one made me wipe my eyes once or twice. I haven’t even seen the movie yet, but I’m probably gonna watch it this week!

Anyone have any book recommendations for things similar to The Green Mile? Obviously other Stephen King books, but I’ve read a few others of his and none have really stuck with me like this one. I got really attached to the characters in this novel and I have another book lined up to read, and this may sound weird but I really don’t even feel ready to move on from this book yet. I liked it that much.

People here have given me really good recommendations in the past so I hope it happens again this time.

Thanks for reading if you got this far.

    1. the shawshank redemption by king is an obvious one, from different seasons. I’d also recommend the talisman. not prison-based but has one of my favorite king characters (john coffey is another one).

    2. The movie is amazing. I’ve wondered many times how close they are to each other since I find it hard to read a book that’s just like the movie.
