Suggest me books (and short stories!) about lonely/empty British seaside towns (preferably spooky or mysterious)

As the title says! Looking for short stories or books that are set in empty or lonely British seaside towns, that have a kind of liminal feel to them. Could also stretch this to lonely/empty British non-seaside towns too, to be fair, but that's my main aim. Preferably spooky and/or mysterious. Thanks so much!!
