A group of people are brought together in a strange location and something weird is going on
Just a very general idea of what I’m looking for, I think it’s a popular formula in most media. Any genre but ideally not murder mystery, the weirder the better.
*Gideon the Ninth* seems like it would fit once it gets rolling.

{{I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman}}. May not be the vibe you’re looking for, but it’s one of my favorite books and applies. Very bleak though.

* The Fold by Peter Clines. To be honest I wasn’t a huge fan of this, but it does fit what you request.

I’ve been waiting for the right time to suggest The Extinction of Irena Rey and I think this is finally it! It’s much stranger than a murder mystery though the set up might remind you of one. Translators meet at the house of an author to translate her new work but the author is missing.
It kind of reminded me of the show Search Party, where everyone seems to get crazier and less attached to their morals as the story progresses. Very strange and fun read
