I've been here for a couple of months and I just love your suggestions. I picked up the mistborn and the stormlight archive series by Brandon Sanderson based on suggestions here and they're absolutely great and have kept me hooked for the last 2 months. I also loved Shadow of the Wind that again, was suggested here. I also read Blood meridian and 100 years of solitude based on the suggestions here but found them okayish, not as good as other suggestions. It maybe has something to do with the prose or style of writing, I just can't put my finger on it.
Other stuff I liked is the century trilogy, the kingsbridge series by Ken Follet and the Game of Thrones.
Any genre works mostly, I'm up for trying different stuff anyway. Just no romance please and the plot should be a little fast and have mature themes. Plus points if it uses adult content- gore, sexual stuff and whatnot not merely for the shock value but something that is important to the story.
Also, if any of you have read some mangas, I really loved Berserk and Vagabond, if that helps.
