I must be in a bit of a reading slump lately. I looked over the books I've read over the past couple months and noticed that I didn't rate any of them higher than 3/5 on Goodreads. For me that means they were…fine, at least somewhat entertaining, but not great.
What's the last book you read that you'd give a 5/5? Something that really sucked you in, that you couldn't put down, and when you were doing anything else, you just couldn't wait to get back to reading. Maybe you read it a while ago and you still can't stop thinking about it.
I'm open to any genre, though I'm not generally a romance fan (will still welcome recs, though). Bonus points for horror.

Intercourse by andrea dworkin. The subject matter is obviously touchy and political so I wouldn’t recommend it to every person in the world but definitely to everyone who identifies as a feminist. It was so well written and has totally shifted my perspective on every piece of media I’ve consumed since.
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. It’s recommended a lot on here. I could not put it down and I can’t stop thinking about it 3 weeks later.
I’ve just finished The Universe vs Alex Woods and I loved it!
*I hope this finds you well* by Natalie Sue, I desperately needed something fun and easygoing to read at the time and this book delivered
Stoner, by John Williams
About 3/4 into *Les Miserables.* It will for sure be a 5/5 for me. The last book before this that I gave 5/5 to is *And Ladies of the Club.*
It may be more useful for you to tell us what books were 5/5 for you and what you are into the mood for now, since books and ratings are so subjective . . .
