I currently work in a franchise bookstore, and absolutely love it, but so far my main issue is that what most people are inquiring about, or asking for, is way outside my wheelhouse. I tend to read older books, close to my interests, and most of mine are old library copies or from second hand stores. If we we’re in the 1920s, I would have no problem. Was wondering how people get good, up to date “popular book news,” I love being able to give recommendations but it can be hard, I know books but just not the ones I’m meant to be selling haha. I’m also a student and get through a couple books a week generally, don’t have so much time.
Find most often people are asking for recommendations at Christmas, or about books that have won awards recently.
