Years ago…I want to say in the late 90's or even before, I read a book where the female protagonist was maybe a detective or police officer. Although not a huge plot point, she was also a practitioner of the Indonesian martial art Pencak Silat. It might even have been a series of books. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? The book I read she had learned the art from a grandmotherly type figure that she met, and ended up in kind of the book's climax using it to defend herself/kill a paid female assassin. Anyway, I'd love to re-discover that book or series if anyone can remind me as to what it was. Thank you.
